Public Invited To First Ever Fargo Parks Forum On December 8

The Fargo Park District invites the public to the community’s first State of the Parks public forum on Tuesday, December 6 at 5:30 pm. The forum will include a report delivered by Fargo Park District Executive Director Dave Leker reflecting on the past year, celebrating the District’s many successes, and looking forward to future initiatives. The event will be hosted at the Dakota Medical Foundation, 4141 28th Ave S, Fargo.

“The Fargo Park District has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years and has a number of exciting projects on the horizon,” states Leker. “With this in mind, we felt that this is the right moment to host a public forum dedicated to engaging our citizens in a discussion of our collective achievements and opportunities.”

The event is free to the public but does require registration. Those interested in attending can register now at FargoParks.com. There will be a virtual option for those wishing to tune in remotely. The public forum will be streamed via YouTube and the Fargo Park District Facebook page and recordings will be available after the event. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, November 29.

The public is also urged to submit items of interest and questions via the registration link. A moderator will facilitate a question-and-answer portion of the event using submitted questions with Fargo Park District leadership.

“We hope that the public will participate in the event in some capacity whether it is in-person or virtually,” says Leker. “We greatly value the input of our community and encourage folks to submit questions and comments so that we can provide meaningful updates during the event.”

Expected topics of discussion include the Fargo Parks Sports Complex, Island Park Pool and Master Plan, Yunker Farm Park Master Plan, recreation programs, and the District’s recent strategic plan and reorganization. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
