Summer is finally here and it’s time to sip on some sunshine while we can. From coffee shops and pastry places to bars and restaurants, we compiled a patio and outdoor seating guide to make it easier for you to decide where to spend your summer days. Let’s take it outside!

Swing Barrel Brewing 814 Center Ave. Suite A, Moorhead
Swing Barrel is brand new to the Moorhead brewing scene, and has a handful of craft brews ready for enjoyment on the patio or to-go in cans.
Beer & Fish Company 230 Roberts Alley, Fargo All ages
Downtown’s newest casual dining restaurant and bar comes with a relaxing alley-way patio and an eclectic food game that’s hard to beat. Take advantage of the freshest fish and chips, fine seafood dishes, an oyster bar, and a large selection of tap beers in an urban setting. You can’t beat the happy hour specials, either.
Vic’s Bar & Grill 427 Center Ave. Moorhead 21+ Vic’s has been on the Downtown Moorhead scene for years, but this summer brings about a new patio addition to the bar and grill. Vic’s offers plenty of daily food specials, drink specials and nightly entertainment.
Cowboy Jack’s 506 Broadway N, Fargo
All ages until 9 p.m.
The second-level patio at Cowboy Jack’s is definitely one you’ll have a hard time leaving. Couches and a cozy fireplace are mixed in with various patio seating, with a killer view of Downtown Fargo. By day, this nightclub and bar serves delicious lunch and dinner options and by night, you can’t go wrong with live music and drink specials.
Sol Ave. Kitchen 1408 1st Ave. N, Moorhead All ages
Described as a “casual concept-globally (and thoughtfully) inspired street food with a Midwest twist to make you feel happy,” Sol Ave. Kitchen has an incredibly elevated menu that will leave you wanting more. As the brainchild of the chef and proprietor of Luna Fargo, you’re sure to be impressed by what Sol. Ave has to offer when it comes to food and drinks.
Brew Bird 30 University Dr. S, Fargo Brew Bird is a funky little former tow-truck-shop turned funky-fried-chicken joint. Specializing in fried chicken tenders and sandwiches, you can also enjoy amazing salads, homemade sides, beer, wine and more on their cozy little patio.

The best way to describe 46 North is that it’s an everyday place for every occasion, and that includes patio dining on the sidewalk right outside of Roberts Commons. Enjoy half-priced bottles of wine on Tuesdays and select specials for Whiskey Wednesday.
The Boiler Room 210 Broadway N All ages until 10 p.m.
With a consistently rotating drink menu that’s curated by the staff, you’re bound to find something you like on at Boiler Room. Plus, their lower-level alleyway patio is somewhat of a hidden gem in the downtown area. Take advantage of half off all drinks and apps for Happy Hour 4-6 p.m. Sunday-Friday and 10 p.m.-midnight seven days a week.
Chub’s Pub & Package Place 421 N. University Drive 21+
Chub’s just debuted a summer cocktail list that includes staples such as a Watermelon Margarita, Beertini, Lynchburg Lemonade and more.
Original Moorhead Dairy Queen 24 8th St. S
A true staple of Moorhead and historic icon, the Moorhead Dairy Queen has plenty of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your favorite ice cream treats throughout the summer.
Drekker Brewing Company – Brewhalla 1666 1st Ave. N All ages, children and minors must be accompanied by an adult
Brewhalla has got some serious outdoor seating game with a variety of tables, comfy chairs, a fire pit and various food trucks to complete the mix.
Drunken Noodle & Slurp Ramen 414 Broadway N All Ages
With a brand new location that boasts a killer rooftop patio, Drunken Noodle and Slurp allow you to enjoy your favorite drinks and noodles with a view of Broadway.
Fargo Brewing Company 610 N. University Drive All Ages
Try the Mango Iron Horse or a sour series beer while you’re out on Fargo Brewing Company’s patio this summer. And don’t forget to fill up on Luchadores Taco Truck while you’re at it.
Fort Noks 52 Broadway N 21+
While it may be a college party hot-spot on the weekends, the patio at Fort Noks has plenty of space for Happy Hour hangs during the week as well. Enjoy Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4-7 p.m. with $1 off wells, taps and domestic bottles.
Front Street Taproom 614 Main Ave. 21+
It doesn’t get much better than a place that supports local craft. Front Street serves craft beer, wine and more that’s all made in North Dakota and Minnesota. You can enjoy all of it on the back alleyway patio that’s quiet, relaxing and allows for the perfect amount of shade when needed.
Harold’s on Main 1330 Main Ave., Moorhead 21+
Moorhead’s hot new watering hole, Harold’s, has got picnic table seating where you can enjoy Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. with $1 off well drinks, wine and taps.
Sky Prairie at the Hotel Donaldson 101 Broadway N 21+
This rooftop view offers a killer view of downtown that you’ll want to soak up Monday-Friday from 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The HoDo is well-known for it’s extensive, well-crafted drink menu that’s sure to impress, in addition to the superb food.
JL Beers 518 1st Ave. N 21+
Enjoy your burgers and beers outdoors on the sidewalk seating. It’s a fantastic trio that can’t be beat.
Junkyard Brewing Company 1416 1st Ave. N, Moorhead 21+, underage persons have to be accompanied by their parent or guardian
Moorhead’s premier experimental brewery is one of the top outdoor seating destinations in the area with a constantly-rotating tap menu, live music, food trucks and more. There’s always something exciting to keep your eye out for at Junkyard.
Nichole’s Fine Pastry 13 8th St. S
Aside from serving the finest European-style desserts in town, Nichole’s also has got a killer lunch menu and tasty coffee drinks to boot. You can treat yourself to plenty of treats out in the sun on the sidewalk tables.
NoBull Smokehouse 609 NP Ave. N All ages until 9:30 p.m.
You’ll enjoy patio life at NoBull in a unique space built into an old shipping container. Check out the various lunch specials throughout the week and enjoy 2-for-1 drinks on the weekends after 10 p.m.
Old Broadway 22 Broadway N All ages, minors must be accompanied by an adult
The Old Broadway’s sidewalk-style patio offers an immersive view of Broadway and the heart of downtown. Stop by Tuesdays and Thursday for the best wing specials in town, and don’t forget about half-priced wine at the grill every Thursday from 4-10 p.m.

There’s a few tables out on the sidewalk at Poké Bowl for you to enjoy the freshest ingredients out on the sidewalk of Second Avenue.
Pounds 612 1st Ave. N All ages until 8 p.m.
Pounds just launched a new summer drink menu that’s perfect for summer drinking on their sidewalk picnic tables. The list includes spiked CapriSun, Fruitopias, La Croix cocktails and more. Enjoy $3 specials Monday-Thursday from 4-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-midnight, and all day on Sundays. Did we mention there’s a massive Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.? Your pups can even get homemade treats, too!
Rhombus Guys 606 Main Ave. All ages until midnight
Enjoy picnic table seating under the shade on this rooftop patio. You’ll definitely want to order off their summer camp-themed cocktail menu and catch a rooftop-patio movie screening every Friday night at 10 p.m. until August. Don’t forget to check out their Bloody Mary specials on the weekends!
Rosey’s Bistro 212 Broadway N All ages until 9 p.m.
Rosey’s has limited outdoor seating but a tasty menu that’s full of their hallmark grilled cheese sandwiches and more. Even if you’re not staying to dine, you can check out the gourmet cheese market inside!
Rustica Eatery & Tavern 315 Main Ave., Moorhead All Ages
Rustica has a few tables of outdoor seating for you to enjoy one of the best Happy Hour specials in town. Their gourmet pizzas are only $6 from 5-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-midnight Tuesday-Saturday. Select drinks are also on special during that time to complete your deal of a meal.
Tailgators Sports Cafe 1322 Main Ave. All ages until 9 p.m.
Just off the beaten path of downtown is Tailgators, a place where you can enjoy great live music acts outdoors and indoors, soak in the sun on the spacious outdoor patio and take advantage of unbeatable happy hour specials.
The Toasted Frog 305 Broadway N 21+ after 3:30 p.m. daily
Toasted Frog’s near-hidden alleyway patio is the perfect dining escape for summer. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4-5:30 p.m. with $2 off apps, taps and glasses of wine. Don’t forget that pizzas are half off from 10 p.m.-close Monday-Saturday.

This alleyway courtyard patio is perfect for summer dining and drinks. Happy Hour is from 3-6 p.m. and 9-11 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and some of the many specials include $2 domestic beers, $3 tab beers and rail cocktails, $4 select wine and shots, $5 classic cocktails and select apps, $6 select apps, $7 signature cocktails and much more. The patio at Usher’s House’s new Moorhead location is on its way, in addition to the launch of Thursday night Tiki Night with special Happy Hour deals, local singer/songwriter performances and a fun tiki drink menu in the next coming weeks.
