Fargo, ND, May 4, 2018 – The Block 9 Partnership – a joint effort of R.D. Offutt Company and The Kilbourne Group – is pleased to announce the selection of McGough Construction of Fargo as the general contractor for the Block 9 multi-use project.

“Hiring a highly respected general contractor like McGough keeps us on track to break ground this summer,” said Scott Neal, President of R.D. Offutt Company’s real estate division. “The expertise they bring and the focus on this project from the top ranks of McGough — including Tim McGough — will help this project be a success. We’re ready to get started!”

“We’re incredibly excited to be working on this project and look forward to working with the Block 9 Partnership,” said Derek Hoeschen, general manager at McGough.

“This world-class project being built right in downtown Fargo will change the skyline for generations to come, it will bring vibrant new amenities to downtown and will bolster revitalization in our city. Through collaboration with the entire project team, we will make this project a success for Fargo.”

As the general contractor, McGough will be responsible for the construction, and coordination of construction activities among project partners. With an established office in downtown Fargo since 2015, the McGough team is very familiar with the neighborhood.

“McGough’s knowledge of the project, innovative approach, and experience level made them stand out,” said Keith Leier, project manager for Kilbourne Group. “McGough has over 60 years of experience working in urban settings and will be very thoughtful about neighborhood impacts.”

Currently a 48,000 square foot surface-level parking lot, Block 9 is in the heart of downtown Fargo at the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue North. When completed, Block 9 will include the main national offices of R.D. Offutt Company, a destination hotel and restaurant, condos, shops, additional office space, a parking garage, and a green space.

Groundbreaking is planned for July or August.
