Fargo Brewing Company is N.D.’s largest and longest operating brewery. It was founded in 2010 by longtime friends Jared Hardy and Aaron Hill. Driven by a desire to bring craft beer to N.D., the Fargo natives used their experiences in the Pacific Northwest to launch the company. FBC currently distributes beer throughout all of N.D., S.D. and portions of Minn. and Neb. Jade Nielsen joined Hardy & Hill as a partner in 2019. Following, the trio, as well as general manager, Zach Click, began to plot FBC’s next steps.
“Craft beer is clearly thriving in this area, so now we can turn our focus onto providing unique opportunities and experiences for the community,” Hill said. “We are incredibly proud to call ourselves Fargo and we really hope to make Fargo proud of what we do.”
Proving there is no limit to the dedication to craft that is unique to Fargo, FBC partner and Jade Presents President Jade Nielsen said the renovation planning began prior to 2020 and the pandemic.
“FBC and Jade Presents share a goal to make our community thrive,” Nielsen said. “I think many businesses are throwing their playbooks out the window. We’re not unique in that we didn’t have to pivot or press pause, but we are decisive in our outlook that there are blue skies ahead.”
With that, we looked to expand the offerings within the facility to include an event and entertainment space (The Hall), an exceptional food offering (NOVA EATERY), a barbershop (NICE BARBER CO) as well as NBco’s intimate gathering space (THE LOUNGE). We expect an additional tenant to join us later in 2021.
Fargo Brewing Company will mark its grand opening to the public Tuesday, April 20, with the release of its annual 1.21 Gigahops beer release and music from Minneapolis’ Kind Country.
Kind Country plays American standards as well as their own brand of Cosmic American music. Since their formation in 2012, the band has focused on creating live performances with high levels of improvisation and energy gathering with a goal of creating a moment of musical bliss that can be shared by audience members and band alike.
Kind Country released their debut self-titled album “Kind Country” in the fall of 2013. The band released their second independently released full-length album, “Hwy 7”, in the fall of 2015. Produced by Ryan Young of Trampled by Turtles, “Hwy 7”, thrust the band further into a regional spotlight. The guys quickly followed up with a 5 track studio EP, “Mountains”, which was released in the spring of 2017.
The Hall at Fargo Brewing Company
The Hall at Fargo Brewing Company extends a celebratory space for the community. It offers a place to share a pint, grab a bite and create memorable experiences. The Hall has the flexibility for concerts, beer dinners, art openings, private events and events yet to be seen. Fargo Brewing is proud of its partnership with Jade Presents, which is providing live entertainment programming at The Hall.
Spearheaded by owners Jade Nielsen, Ian Johnson, and master barber Branden Ashmore, Nice Barber Company is a new shop and outlook on an old tradition. More than a business, Nice will be a community, an experience and a place to belong. NBco will provide cuts, shaves and a smile – as well as offering walk-in opportunities and extended hours. Adjacent to NBco is another unique space, The Lounge will be available for meetings and other small gatherings, dinners and celebrations of all types.
Executive Chef Ryan Nitschke and business partner Nikki Berglund come together for their third restaurant concept to bring you Nova Eatery. Since they first started working together with the opening of Luna Fargo in 2014, they have shared a love of quality food, wine & beer pairing and working with their local farmers and craftspeople. Their goal has always been to create places that they want not only the community to love, but also that reflect their values and desire to create unique, one of a kind dining experiences.
Nova Eatery is the culmination of years of collaboration and camaraderie with Fargo Brewing Company which stems from a friendship built on comfort foods and flavors, and a mutual respect and affinity for each other’s crafts. Nova’s offerings will include a small rotating menu of meats, veggies and snacks both familiar and fresh. Have a burger or pork belly, braised greens or mac & cheese…they’ll all pair well with a pint.
