Folkways’ live performance event, Night Bazaar, returns for another unique evening in downtown Fargo. Night Bazaar highlights the community’s talents with a plethora of experiences and performances. The August event will feature several live art demonstrations by local artists. Live paintings will be created over the course of the event by street artist, Nickolas Haertling and painter, Lauren Starling, creator of the mural, Fargo Mario Wall. Glass artist, Kirby Berg, and potter, Hayden Swanson, will show visitors the intricate details of their craft at demonstration booths.
The live music lineup includes notable area performers, Jon Walters, Kayla Gallegos, and Anthony Lamb, Drift, and 6th Street Revue. Visitors can listen to the performances while enjoying a local brew or glass of wine from Front Street Taproom. This month’s Bazaar will also feature a special performance by the local fire dancing troupe, Turn & Burn.
Like the evening bazaars of southeast Asia, visitors can shop for art, trinkets, crystals and handmade goods from local artisans and vintage shops including Lavender Land. Street food will be available from food vendors including the tacos from the Pico food truck. Visitors can get a henna tattoo or a tarot card reading, try drawing sessions with Draw Club.
This event is free, family-friendly, and dog-friendly. More information including a full schedule, list of vendors, and parking location can be found at www.folkways.co/nightbazaar.
