Since it’s founding over 85 years ago, the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra has transformed itself and the musical performances it stages as tastes have changed. While traditional symphony performances of classical orchestral and chamber music will always be in vogue, opportunities to present new formats brings new fans.

One such opportunity is Love & Trouble a cabaret-style show written by composer Dave Hall and soprano Adrienne Danrich, at the Fargo Theatre on February 14th. According to the creators, Love & Trouble explores the many facets of love from the perspective of five different personas. The show is presented cabaret-style and features Adrienne’s original lyrics, poems and musical compositions.

A Mix Of Musical Styles

The show features jazz, gospel, classical and blues musical styles that allow each of the very different characters to express themselves in a toe tapping, emotionally riveting and exhilarating experience. This performance will feature a small jazz/classical ensemble of Fargo-Moorhead Symphony musicians as well as guest pianist Mila Henry and guitarist James Moore.

Adrienne Danrich is most notably recognized for winning a Midwest EMMY for her performance and narration of This Little Light of Mine: The Stories of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. Adrienne first performed for Fargo-Moorhead audiences when she was soprano soloist for Mahler’s “Resurrection Symphony” in 2015. She is a native of St. Louis, MO and her performance of Love & Trouble at the historic Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City was nominated for the Broadway World Cabaret Awards for Best Special Event (Solo) in 2018.

At the theater, a wine & beer cash bar will be available on the second floor. The Radisson is offering a Buy One/Get One free drink for concert-goers if you show your ticket or stub.
