DESCRIPTION:EXPERIENCE AS A GHANAIAN LIVING IN THE DIASPORA \nNew Works by Eugene Ofori Agyei \nEugene Ofori Agyei (b. 1993) is a Ghanaian-born artist and educator\, living in the United States. His most recent body of work Do You Feel What I Feel? explores issues of cultural identity\, material ritual\, displacement and belonging. Agyei incorporates African batik fabrics\, yarn\, ceramics\, maps and everyday objects imbued with personal or cultural meaning into his installations. These sculptural works help him to define an identity inundated by changing places\, languages or perceptions. Agyie considers the dual process of both creating and preserving individual identity beyond the borders we cross\, the challenges we face and the story we have not finished telling. \nThis exhibition is funded in part by the Arts Partnership and the School of Design\, Architecture and Art.

This multi-national\, Celtic juggernaut grows stronger with each live performance\, and as you can imagine\, after two decades and over 2000 shows\, it is a true force to be reckoned with. With their latest release\, “Go Climb a Tree” \, Gaelic Storm’s  music has never sounded more representative of themselves as musicians and as live performers. The band attributes their continued success to their fanatic audience\, and it’s a well-diversified crowd for sure. The country-music folks adore the storytelling\, the bluegrass-heads love the instrumentals\, Celtic fans love their devotion to tradition\, and the rockers simply relish the passion they play their instruments with. \nThe High Kings are Finbarr Clancy\, Darren Holden\, Brian Dunphy and newest member Paul O’ Brien. The High Kings formed in June 2007 when Brian\, Darren\, Finbarr and former member Martin Furey were asked to join a brand-new Irish ballad group by David Kavanagh after he had noticed a gap in the market for a band specializing in traditional Irish music. The High Kings play 13 instruments between them\, creating the unique sound and atmosphere that they still showcase to this day. This was confirmed when their self-titled debut album reached No. 2 on the world Billboard Music chart.

DESCRIPTION:EXPERIENCE AS A GHANAIAN LIVING IN THE DIASPORA \nNew Works by Eugene Ofori Agyei \nEugene Ofori Agyei (b. 1993) is a Ghanaian-born artist and educator\, living in the United States. His most recent body of work Do You Feel What I Feel? explores issues of cultural identity\, material ritual\, displacement and belonging. Agyei incorporates African batik fabrics\, yarn\, ceramics\, maps and everyday objects imbued with personal or cultural meaning into his installations. These sculptural works help him to define an identity inundated by changing places\, languages or perceptions. Agyie considers the dual process of both creating and preserving individual identity beyond the borders we cross\, the challenges we face and the story we have not finished telling. \nThis exhibition is funded in part by the Arts Partnership and the School of Design\, Architecture and Art.
