Wine Class – Winemaking Revealed
January 21 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

Winemaking can seem a mysterious, even alchemical process. People take simple grapes and somehow transform them into wines that feature a staggering array of flavors. Yet as complicated, mythical, and scientific as winemaking gets, it all really breaks down by decisions made by winemakers. When and how should the grapes be harvested? How should they be crushed? How will the fermentation happen? What vessel will the wine rest in, and for how long? Each of these decisions and more can have an impact on what the wine will eventually taste like.
In this class, join Certified Wine Educator Ginny McClure as she delves into the mind of a winemaker. You will taste wine in a variety of different styles and learn how specific decisions and techniques lead to the flavors of those wines. Expect wines that have undergone an aging regimen, techniques to make them sparkle, and other specific processes designed to encourage or discourage various flavors and attributes. This class is sure to at least partially demystify the world of winemaking, all while you enjoy the taste of delicious wines.
Must be 21+ to attend.
