Wine Class – French Wine & Macarons

Wine pairing can be intimidating, especially when so much of the classic advice is focused on dishes and wines you have never heard of and can rarely afford. Yet the principle of wine pairing should be fun and joyous – a way to match the sensual delights of food and beverage, to create a culinary harmony that is both satisfying, and, if done well, often surprising. One way to keep wine pairing fun is to choose a fun thing to pair it with. In this class, we will be exploring pairing wine with macarons.

The macaron is a classic French dessert, a meringue-based sandwich cookie composed of almond flour, egg whites, powdered and granulated sugar. In this class, Romayne Kilde will pair the curated selection of Bettergoods macarons with classic French wines, picked out by Evan Christie. Learn how each wine matches with the flavor of each macaron and why these classic wines are the perfect accompaniment to this refined dessert. Please note, the macarons do contain almond flour. Also note the class price is higher than our standard, so that we may provide delicious macarons to pair with your wine.
