Bonsai Club
January 26 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Welcome back for year two of bonsai club! Baker hosts North Dakota’s only bonsai club. Seasonally, it is held on the last Thursday evening of every month. Anyone with a curiosity of the art is welcome to join for free to listen and engage with other members. We ask you register to allow us to prepare for guests. Tickets will be available to purchase a new bonsai and pot (prices varies with material)
This month’s plant will be Podocarpus Maki. The Buddhist Pine or Japanese Yew is a plant native to Japan and China. Its short, elongated leaves are reminiscent of evergreen plants. These are slow growers with great long-term qualities. They are highly valued as feng shui pieces in homes. Even to the point of being dug up and stolen right out of the ground!
Not only will you get a new plant potted up, you also leave with cultural, historical, and care information. We discuss the origins of the ancient art, traditional practices, and modern applications. Our club is focused around tropical species to be kept as indoor bonsai. For any questions, please contact instructor Audrey Gilbraith at audrey@bakernursery.com or direct line 701-532-4758
Included in the paid ticket is 1 6” bonsai pot of preferred style and color, 1 bonsai plant, wire materials, and bonsai soil.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Refunds available until 24 hours before event.
