Fargo to Open New 2.5-Mile All American Trail North This Saturday

FARGO, N.D. — The grand opening for the new All American Trail North, a 2.5-mile single-track trail along Fargo’s Red River Trail, is set for Saturday, November 1. The event is free, open to the public, and will proceed rain or shine.

The new trail connects the Dike East parking lot to Lindenwood Park. According to a press release, the trail was inspired by the OZ Trails system in Northwest Arkansas and is designed as a family-friendly experience for walking, running, or biking.

The project was designed and built by Pat Crary, with assistance from local volunteers and artists. The concept for the trail was initiated by three local children: Harper, AZ, and Sloan Tehven, ages 7, 6, and 5, respectively.

Financial support for the project was provided by Forum Communications, Fargo’s Downtown Community Partnership, Bell Bank, the FM Area Foundation, and other private donors.

The grand opening event schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00 a.m. – Coffee, music, and donuts will be available.
  • 9:15 a.m. – A short program will feature remarks from the trail designer, project partners, and a representative from the Fargo Park District.
  • 9:23 a.m. – An “Opening Ride” will be held, led by participants 15 and under, with all others invited to follow.

Attendees are welcome to walk, run, or bike the new trail. The event announcement noted that costumes are encouraged.
