Fargo Park District Seeks Input from North Fargo Seniors on Future Recreation

FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo Park District is asking older adults in North Fargo to provide feedback on future recreational programming as part of a new community engagement initiative.

The district is seeking input from residents ages 55 and older to guide the development of new programs and services. This effort follows early findings from the Park System Master Plan and feedback from participants at Broadway Station, which both highlighted a community desire for more recreation options in North Fargo.

“Through Valley Senior Services, the Fargo Park District already provides meals, transportation, and access to resources for older adults in North Fargo,” said Susan Faus, Executive Director at the Fargo Park District. “Now we want to build on that strong foundation by expanding recreation opportunities that encourage connection, health, and fun.”

Faus added that the feedback will help district departments “create programs that truly fit the needs and interests of older adults in North Fargo.”

To facilitate the engagement process, the Park District has partnered with Reach Partners, Inc., a local project management and facilitation firm.

“Hearing directly from residents ensures that future programs and services are not only responsive but also truly reflective of what matters most to them,” said Rachel Asleson, co-owner of Reach Partners, Inc.

The district is encouraging all older adults in the area, including those who do not currently use Park District programs, to share their perspectives.
