FARGO, N.D. – “Folsom Prison Experience,” a theatrical production recreating Johnny Cash’s 1968 prison concert, is scheduled for a performance at the Fargo Theatre on Friday, April 10, 2026. Doors for the event will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The production is described as a theatrical event that combines a live concert, stage drama, and audience participation to recreate the atmosphere of Cash’s performance at Folsom Prison on January 13, 1968.
The show stars Jay Ernest, leader of the tribute band Church of Cash, in the role of Johnny Cash. The cast also includes Kat Perkins as June Carter, Dan Hopman as The Warden, and Bradley Erickson as Emcee Hugh Cherry, among others. The production was co-written by Ernest and Tom Pickard and is directed by Stephanie Long.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, October 24, at 10 a.m., with reserved seating starting at $49. An online-only presale will be available on Thursday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
