Fargo, N.D. – The Friends of the Fargo Public Library have announced the dates for their annual Fall Book Sale, inviting the community to acquire gently used reading materials while supporting key library programs. The sale is scheduled to run for three days, from Thursday, Oct. 23, through Saturday, Oct. 25, at multiple library branch locations.
The event, a major fundraising initiative for the Friends organization, will feature a wide array of merchandise, including fiction, nonfiction, and reference books, as well as collections of CDs and DVDs.
The sale will take place across three locations to maximize accessibility for residents. On Thursday, Oct. 23, the sale runs from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 24, hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Finally, the final day, Saturday, Oct. 25, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will be hosted in the breezeway of the Main Library, as well as at the Carlson and Northport branches.
Special offers are planned across the three days. On Thursday and Friday, all items, with the exception of collectible books, will be offered under a buy-four-get-one-free deal. The sale will culminate on Saturday with the popular bag sale, allowing patrons to fill a standard grocery bag with books for a set price of $10. Payment for all transactions is limited to cash or check only.
Supporting Library Operations
Proceeds generated from the book sale are directed entirely toward the Friends of the Fargo Public Library, a dedicated nonprofit organization. The organization’s core mission is to support the Fargo Public Library system through advocacy, volunteering, and fundraising efforts.
The funds raised are crucial in supporting various functions and programming initiatives provided by the library, often supplementing the library’s budget to enhance community offerings, educational events, and youth programs. This book sale represents one of the primary ways the community can directly contribute to the vitality and enrichment of their local library system.
