MOORHEAD, MN – Beer enthusiasts rejoice! The highly anticipated Rare Beer Picnic, hosted by Junkyard Brewing Company, is set to return for its ninth annual installment on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Viking Ship Park in Moorhead, MN. This celebrated summer gathering, consistently nominated for “Best Beer Festival” by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, promises an immersive experience for both seasoned beer geeks and casual sippers.
The Rare Beer Picnic distinguishes itself with an all-inclusive ticket that offers attendees unlimited samples of rare, limited-edition, and experimental brews from a hand-picked selection of top craft breweries. Beyond the exceptional beer, each ticket includes a full-size branded tasting glass, a catered picnic meal featuring shredded jerk chicken, elote corn, and Cuban black beans with rice, and a swag bag loaded with a custom koozie, stickers, and a lighter. Live music from regional legends Heart and Soul will set the vibe with funk, soul, and good-time grooves.

The festival prides itself on a laid-back environment, eschewing overcrowded lines and premium tiers. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to relax under the park’s towering trees and enjoy four glorious hours of sipping, sun, and socializing. The event also playfully warns of spontaneous water fights, a signature touch from the mischievous Junkyard crew.
