In 2023-24, the Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work, part of the Concordia College Offutt School of Business, will explore the question “How do we build a more trustworthy world?” The October Conversation: “Healthcare: Where Are We on the Equity Journey” featuring Dr. Ben Danielson, is at noon CDT Wednesday, Oct. 4. The hourlong event is a hybrid in-person and virtual conversation in Barry Auditorium in the Grant Center. You’re invited to bring your own lunch to the in-person event.
Danielson is clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington. He has devoted his career to addressing issues of healthcare equity, community advocation, and patient care.
Danielson will lead us on a deep exploration delving into the complex issues surrounding racial disparities, systemic racism, and the profound impact they have on our healthcare system through personal anecdotes, data-driven insights, and thought-provoking examples. Danielson will shed light on the persisting challenges faced by marginalized communities within the healthcare system.
The event is free. Please register at ConcordiaCollege.edu/Lorentzsen. Call 218.299.3305 for more information. A link will be sent after registration for those choosing the virtual option.
The next discussion is on Nov. 6, when Dr. Scott Winship of American Enterprise Institute will discuss economic opportunity and social mobility.
