Hawley Growing as Developer Adds 21 New Residential Lots

Prairie Hills Development Sky View

City of Hawley

Developers R&H Properties of Hawley, LLC., have signed paperwork to open 21 new residential lots in Prairie Hills Estates 5th Addition. This development will bring highly-desired new home development locations to Hawley’s northwest corner. Hawley, due to high demand, has a housing shortage that this new development will help solve.

Moore Engineering (based in nearby West Fargo, ND) helped with the planning of the project, and Hawley-based contractor Sellin Brothers will be doing the groundwork.

“The City Of Hawley is grateful that the Olson’s continue to invest in the community,” said Hawley mayor Sean Mork. “We are excited about the addition in Prairie Hills to increase and improve the housing options within the city.”

Locally-owned developer, R&H Properties, is continuing the vision of Bob and Helen Olson, who started Phase 1 of Prairie Hills in 1999. Their vision was to provide residential development to help grow Hawley, grow the school system, and support the surrounding areas. This new phase is an extension of the original vision 23 years ago.

The development’s website, https://www.prairiehillsestates.com/, offers a map of available lots, recommended builders, the ability to schedule a tour or meeting, shows an already-built model home, as well as highlights all that is great about living in Hawley, Minnesota–including a close walk to schools (including the new middle-school), proximity to lakes, outdoor recreation areas, major business centers, and Hawley’s first-class golf course.

“This is a place filled with optimism for what lies ahead. A safe place where children gather with carefree imaginations, eager to explore and learn and grow. A place where all generations can come together and continue their journey. A place where strangers become neighbors, and neighbors become friends.”

Among the development’s amenities are a walking path, pickleball Court, basketball court, and picnic shelter sponsored by the Hawley Lions, and there is potential for adding new playground equipment. There is also a tree-lined walking path to Hawley’s elementary and high schools.

It is anticipated new home construction will begin in September of this year.
