Fargo Park District hosts Youth Ice Fishing Derby Feb. 25

There’s still time to plan to bring your ice fishing rod and try your luck at the annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 25 hosted by the Fargo Park District. This free event is open to the entire community and will take place at Woodhaven South Fishing Pond, 4802 Woodhaven Drive S, Fargo. Registration begins at 1:30 pm Saturday with the derby taking place from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

Youth ages 15 and under are invited to come try their luck catching perch, bluegill or northern pike on the pond. Free bait is available while supplies last and medals are awarded for the top catches. Participants must provide their own fishing rod and tackle and must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Use of portable ice houses & sonar equipment is allowed but not provided. All ice fishing holes are pre-drilled for participants. Enjoy free S’mores supplies for roasting and giveaways while supplies last. 

Youth Ice Fishing Derby is sponsored in part by F-M Walleyes Unlimited and SCHEELS.
