Fargo Air Museum to Host ‘Purple Heart History Night’ February 7th

The Fargo Air Museum is hosting Purple Heart History Night, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Awarded to those injured in service of the United States, the Purple Heart military decoration is the oldest military award still given to U.S. military members. The event will feature its extensive history and Purple Heart recipients.

“The Purple Heart is presented to service members who have been wounded or killed as a result of enemy action while serving in our Military,” says Major General Mike Haugen (ret.), former ND Adjutant General. “It is a solemn distinction and means a service member has greatly sacrificed themselves, or paid the ultimate price, while in the line of duty.”

The event will start at 6:30 pm followed by a Q&A and social hour with light refreshments. A $5 donation is requested, and no pre-registration is required. Museum members will be able to attend the event for free.

“I look forward to the Fargo Air Museum’s History Night and hearing the stories of the sacrifices made by our brave Purple Heart Medal members of our Military,” said Gen. Haugen.
