Stilt walkers, jugglers, dancers, and more can all be discovered at Folkways’ signature event, Night Bazaar. The third event in this monthly series highlights the community’s talents with a plethora of unique experiences, vendors, and performances in downtown Fargo at Broadway Square.
The upcoming Bazaar will feature over 40 local artisans, makers, and vintage shops. This month’s night market will welcome jewelry vendor Wildera Studio. Owner, Kelly Glass, is a Fargo native currently living and running her business in Forest Lake, MN. Glass uses silversmithing techniques such as soldering, hammering, sawing, stamping, filing, and setting gemstones to create pieces that are inspired by nature. Her jewelry is made from raw brass, sterling silver, and high quality gemstones.
Music by local DJ J. Melby, will be punctuated with performances by local movement talents. Among them will be Chinese Heritage of Recreation and Dance or CHORD, a local dance group. CHORD promotes Chinese culture and art through showcasing various traditional dances. During Night Bazaar, CHORD will perform two dances at 6:45 P.M. Later in the evening, entertainer Kati Rose Hicks will perform an aerial, juggling, and hooping routine.
This event is free, family friendly, and dog friendly. More information including a full schedule, list of vendors, and parking locations can be found at www.folkways.co/nightbazaar. One more Night Bazaar event will take place this year on September 22nd.
