DCP To Host Good Old Fashioned Block Party On Fargo’s 8th Street South

Mark your calendars to attend a good, old-fashioned block party in the heart of Fargo. For the third installment in the H2M Presents: Live & Local series, the Downtown Community Partnership (DCP) is hosting a party on historic 8th Street just south of Main Avenue. The free, family-friendly event begins at 5:30 p.m. on August 19, 2021. The goal of the concert series is to highlight local artists while also highlighting exciting areas, both new and old, that call Downtown Fargo home.

“Downtown Fargo consists of 70 square blocks,” said Lora Larson, Development Coordinator for the Downtown Community Partnership. “Most people know about the Broadway corridor, but not everyone wanders off the beaten path and explores these hidden gems in Downtown Fargo. Our goal is to create awareness about different pockets of our neighborhood and encourage people to explore their community.”

The DCP is hosting a party on historic 8th Street South in Fargo on August 19, 2021.

The DCP encourages you to stop by 8th Street south to enjoy the block party! Bring a lawn chair and relax with your friends and family.

What to expect:

  • Free live music by the Crop Dusters and Jessica Vines
  • Smoke My Butt BBQ on site serving up fresh eats
  • Beverages by Sanctuary Events Center
  • Jade presents will be bringing their info trailer and yard games
  • Chalk art area for kids (and kids at heart)
  • Free digital photo booth
  • Businesses on the block will have extended hours to invite guests in

The first event in the series focused on the boundaries of Downtown showcasing the emerging 7th Avenue and University Drive businesses. The second was integrated into the Downtown Fargo Street Fair to show off the new and exciting Broadway Square as a local gathering place. The third event on August 19th highlights the historic 8th Street with its plethora of small businesses and art studios. For the final event on September 16, 2021, the DCP will highlight art and its many different forms with our amazing neighbor, Plains Art Museum!
