JLG’s 7th Annual “Rock the Streets” Concert Returns to Downtown Fargo

With 2021 marking the 32nd anniversary of JLG Architects, the firm’s 150+ employee-owners are ready to rock. On Friday, September 10, 2021, JLG will be hosting its seventh annual rockin’ end-of-summer street dance in downtown Fargo’s newest outdoor destination, Broadway Square. Headlining JLG’s “Rock the Streets” concert will be the Fabulous Armadillos, with local band, Aaron Simmons and the Roadkills opening the night. Food and beer trucks will be available to the public at 6:00 P.M., with bands taking the stage at 6:45 P.M. The concert is free and open to the public, with attendees encouraged to bring their own seating.

JLG has moved their annual event between downtown locations across the firm’s 11 offices in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Massachusetts. This year, Broadway Square was a stand-out choice as the newest hotspot in the heart of downtown Fargo, just steps from JLG’s Fargo office. Broadway Square’s green space is located on the corner of new Jasper Hotel and is home to downtown’s ice rink and warming house in the winter, with a bandshell and summer gathering space primed for outdoor concerts like JLG’s Rock the Streets.

On September 10, 2021, JLG will be hosting its 7th annual Rock the Streets in downtown Fargo’s Broadway Square.

As the headlining act from Central Minnesota, Fabulous Armadillos anticipate drawing a large and loyal crowd with songs from an array of genres – Country, Motown, Heavy Metal, and 70’s Soft Rock. Within the night’s opening band, Aaron Simmons and the Roadkills, rockers will find one of JLG’s own, Joe Bakke, who has been a Project Support for nearly two years. Aaron Simmons is a North Dakota native who released the band’s debut album, “Third St SW” in 2020, peaking at #5 on the iTunes Country Chart.

The Friday night concert welcomes the community inclusively – but to JLG employee-owners, it’s the grand finale of a company-exclusive, full-day extravaganza celebrating the first big gathering of all 150+ employee-owners since the start of the pandemic. Prior to the concert, JLGers will take part in their annual awards program, company photo, lunch, dinner, and a presentation hosted by leadership. The daytime will be dedicated to recognizing award-winning projects, conquered goals, and celebrating leadership growth, internship contributions, and those who triumphed in volunteer programs like JLGives Back, JLG philanthropic 1+ program, and JLGfit, a company fitness program rewarding those who want to enhance their health and wellness.
