The Downtown Community Partnership (DCP), with the support of Interstate Parking, has brought back their Alfresco Islands for a second season. Alfresco Islands are an outdoor dining-style concept to help patrons enjoy eating outside this summer in Downtown Fargo. The Downtown Community Partnership has created “Islands” Downtown for all to enjoy. The islands consist of parklets, benches, and/or tables – Alfresco style, and are an addition to other green spaces Downtown.
During the pandemic, almost every Downtown dining establishment integrated takeout as part of their new normal; the DCP wants to encourage those who are wishing to get out of the house and explore Downtown Fargo by eating alfresco! Pick up a coffee from one of Downtown’s many shops or order takeout from your favorite restaurant and find a clean, beautiful space to enjoy the ambiance of historic Downtown.
“We want Fargo-Moorhead to have spaces to enjoy the outdoors in the heart of our city,” says Lora, Development Coordinator at the Downtown Community Partnership. “Our independent restaurants and shops make the heart of Fargo a unique and enjoyable destination and we want to be creative in finding ways to support them and give customers a casual place to enjoy their takeout and feel like a part of the neighborhood.”
Downtown Fargo Business Improvement (BID) will be assisting with the project by helping to provide daily sanitation as an extension of their Clean, Safe, Maintain, and Promote mission. Interstate Parking’s support for the project makes it possible to provide cleanliness and fill planters to add to the charm of the space!
You can find the Alfresco Islands set up through the month of August, including the newest addition near Broadway and 1st Avenue outside Tea & Crepe.
