Summer is finally here and it’s time to sip on some sunshine while we can. From coffee shops and pastry places to bars and restaurants, we compiled a patio and outdoor seating guide to make it easier for you to decide where to spend your summer days. Let’s take it outside!

Bernbaum’s

Bernbaum’s has been a downtown fan favorite for many years, and now it’s time to enjoy your beloved bagels and sandwiches outside with the addition of their Broadway sidewalk patio. Breakfast and lunch just got a whole lot happier.

Fargo Brewing Company
610 N. University Dr. 
These veteran brewers are rocking a newly remodeled space, complete with a permanent food eatery on the way and a spacious outdoor patio. New taproom, who dis? Check out their brand new concert venue or catch an outdoor show while you’re enjoying your brews outside.

701 Eateries
701 N. University Dr. 
Camp Lone Tree at 701 Eateries is a brand spankin’ new rooftop patio, bar and eatery that’s got a bonfire pit to boot, yard games and plenty of seating for you and all of your friends. Enjoy invigorating cocktails and midwest food classics while you gather around the campfire.

Rosewild

Located in the brand new Jasper Hotel at the heart of downtown Fargo, Rosewild “elevates traditional rustic Plains preparations that rely on preservation, fermentation, and foraging of the land.” You can enjoy classic Nordic dishes and inspired cocktails on their patio that faces Broadway Square, complete with personal fire pits.

ThaiKota

Just off the beaten path of the heart of downtown lies some of the best Northern Thai and fusion dishes in town. ThaiKota offers a variety of impeccable dishes that can be ordered for take-out, dine-in or enjoyed on their patio.


46 North Pints & Provisions

All ages during the week, 21+ after 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
The best way to describe 46 North is that it’s an everyday place for every occasion, and that includes patio dining on the sidewalk right outside of Roberts Commons. Enjoy half-priced bottles of wine on Tuesdays and select specials for Whiskey Wednesday.

Beer & Fish Company

Downtown’s newest casual dining restaurant and bar comes with a relaxing alley-way patio and an eclectic food game that’s hard to beat. Take advantage of the freshest fish and chips, fine seafood dishes, an oyster bar, and a large selection of tap beers in an urban setting. You can’t beat the happy hour specials, either.

The Boiler Room

With a consistently rotating drink menu that’s curated by the staff, you’re bound to find something you like on at Boiler Room. Plus, their lower-level alleyway patio is somewhat of a hidden gem in the downtown area. Take advantage of half off all drinks and apps for Happy Hour 4-6 p.m. Sunday-Friday and 10 p.m.-midnight seven days a week.

Brew Bird

Brew Bird is a funky little former tow-truck-shop turned funky-fried-chicken joint. Specializing in fried chicken tenders and sandwiches, you can also enjoy amazing salads, homemade sides, beer, wine and more on their cozy little patio.

Chub’s just debuted a summer cocktail list that includes staples such as a Watermelon Margarita, Beertini, Lynchburg Lemonade and more.

Cowboy Jack’s

The second-level patio at Cowboy Jack’s is definitely one you’ll have a hard time leaving. Couches and a cozy fireplace are mixed in with various patio seating, with a killer view of Downtown Fargo. By day, this nightclub and bar serves delicious lunch and dinner options and by night, you can’t go wrong with live music and drink specials.

A true staple of Moorhead and historic icon, the Moorhead Dairy Queen has plenty of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your favorite ice cream treats throughout the summer.

Brewhalla has got some serious outdoor seating game with a variety of tables, comfy chairs, a fire pit and various food trucks to complete the mix.

With a brand new location that boasts a killer rooftop patio, Drunken Noodle and Slurp allow you to enjoy your favorite drinks and noodles with a view of Broadway.

Try the Mango Iron Horse or a sour series beer while you’re out on Fargo Brewing Company’s patio this summer. And don’t forget to fill up on Luchadores Taco Truck while you’re at it.

It doesn’t get much better than a place that supports local craft. Front Street serves craft beer, wine and more that’s all made in North Dakota and Minnesota. You can enjoy all of it on the back alleyway patio that’s quiet, relaxing and allows for the perfect amount of shade when needed.

Moorhead’s hot new watering hole, Harold’s, has got picnic table seating where you can enjoy Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. with $1 off well drinks, wine and taps.

Junkyard Brewing Company

Moorhead’s premier experimental brewery is one of the top outdoor seating destinations in the area with a constantly-rotating tap menu, live music, food trucks and more. There’s always something exciting to keep your eye out for at Junkyard.

Whether you’re on a health kick or want something cold and sweet, Juice It has plenty of options for all with a patio located right in the common area of Fort Noks and NoBull Smokehouse.

Rustica has a few tables of outdoor seating for you to enjoy one of the best Happy Hour specials in town. Their gourmet pizzas are only $6 from 5-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-midnight Tuesday-Saturday. Select drinks are also on special during that time to complete your deal of a meal.
