701 Day: A Celebration Of Local Music, Food and Beer

The Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau,  Jade Presents and Fargo Brewing Company present 701 Day outdoors at Fargo Brewing Company on July 1, 2020. The event will commemorate North Dakota and our amazing community.

701 Day is an event of everything North Dakota, by the means of local music, food and beer. Jade Presents and Fargo Brewing Company are coming together to create a free and safe evening to celebrate Live & Local. Enjoy music from Heart&Soul, Jessica Vines and Stovepipes, food from the Hot Dog Peddler and Blackbird Pizza and the best brews from Fargo Brewing.

Heart&Soul

Heart&Soul members: Hope (lead singer), Paul (keys), Derrick (drums/percussion), Nhoj (percussion/drums), Matt (guitar), Jordan (bass)

Heart&Soul has emerged as one of the hottest bands in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Playing a R&B, Heart&Soul generates energy and excitement. They have been playing together for over 4 years and the members came to Fargo from many different places, blending together into one great band.

Heart and Soul plays a fusion of R & B, Smooth Jazz, Funk, Neo-Soul and Blues.

Jessica Vines

Fargo’s Jessica Vines

Fargo’s Jessica Vines wraps her way around the listener’s attention. Swinging from soul to jazz to pop, Vines’ distinctive vocals bop their way above the whimsical wind instruments, bubbly bass and relentless riffs in her self-penned debut album Moving Too Fast. Sounding well beyond her 24 years, Vines slows things down when it fits the mood and speeds things up at all the right times. Released in early 2020, Moving Too Fast varies from the jazz-funk fused title track to the tantalizing “What They Say” to the jammin’ “Never Again.” Moving Too Fast is just the beginning for this spunky songstress.

Stovepipes

Stovepipes members: Alex Phelps, Mckay Galbrecht, Jake Nosal and Cody Kostka

Carving out a path in the space between bands like Cream and The White Stripes, Stovepipes puts forth a sound that hearkens back to their predecessors while pushing into a realm definitively their own. Based in the arctic tundra that is Fargo-Moorhead, the four-piece consists of Alex Phelps (Vocals), Mckay Galbrecht (Guitar), Cody Koska (Bass), Jake Nosal (Drums), plays steadily across cities of the upper-upper-Midwest, building a network of supporters on the way.

The band has shared the stage with the like of Dan Auerbach collaborator Patrick Sweaney and Minneapolis-based heroes The 4onthefloor, as well as being named a finalist for Best Original Band in The High Plains Reader’s Best of the Best 2018 poll.

Growing significantly since the release of their four-song demo in 2017, the band has recently released the Sparkle & Shine EP, recorded at the Terrarium in Minneapolis, MN. Highlighted by tracks like the bluesy-rocker “Medicine Man” and the soul-tinged “My Name”, the album is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, and Reverbnation.

Event Safety

For the safety of our patrons and staff, we will be following the North Dakota Smart Restart Guidelines and 701 Day will have a limited capacity to create space for social distancing.
