Vehicles Parked On Downtown Fargo Avenues Need To Be Moved Sunday

Cars buried in snow

After working in residential areas, Fargo Public Works crews will focus on snow removal in the Downtown Fargo area. To accomplish this, operators require sufficient space to properly remove snow.

On Sunday evening (January 19) through Monday morning (January 20), plowing will occur on the east/west avenues in the Downtown. Beginning at 2 a.m. on Monday, vehicles parked on the downtown business district’s avenues will be impounded to ensure crews can complete snow removal efforts. This includes all avenues between 1st Ave. S. and 6th Ave. N. from 2nd St. to University Drive (see map). It will be legal to park on the downtown area’s streets during this time.

The north/south streets will be plowed on Monday evening (January 20) through Tuesday morning (January 21). Beginning at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, vehicles parking on the downtown business district’s streets will be impounded. It will be legal to park on the downtown area’s avenues during this time.

Residents are encouraged to utilize available parking in the City of Fargo’s parking ramps and surface lots in the downtown area. Parking in select locations is free after 5 p.m. and on weekends. Visit Fargo Parking for information about available parking.

Additionally, Fargo Public Works requests the public’s assistance in affording equipment and crew members sufficient room to remove the snow. Please stay a safe distance from the equipment hauling snow, especially in the downtown area where congestion is greater. The City of Fargo appreciates the patience of its residents and visitors as its team works around the clock to recover from this winter storm.
