Red River Market Opens for 2017 Season on Saturday July 8th

The Red River Market is kicking off its third season on Saturday, July 8th with nearly 70 vendors, offering locally sourced produce, breads, meats, eggs, flowers, coffee, household goods, and ready to eat foods.

Last year, over 50,000 visitors filled the streets of downtown Fargo and this year organizers expect that number will grow. The market will return to its location at Broadway & 4th Ave N in the parking lot surrounding the former Schumacher Goodyear building (409 Broadway). Visitors will enjoy a wide variety of vendors all from a 200 mile radius of Fargo, three live musical performances per day, and educational programming every Saturday.

On opening day, music will be provided by Eric Jacobson, Courtney Utz, and The Jazz Committee. Kids and families can enjoy the Imagination Playground and art demonstrations from The Arts Partnership.

The Red River Market has partnered with local organizations to fulfill their mission of making fresh and local food accessible to all. MATBUS will provide free bus rides to and from the market to all riders with a printed pass. Passes are available on the Red River Market and MATBUS websites.

Users on SNAP food assistance (formerly referred to as food stamps) will receive twice the value in eligible foods at the market. When SNAP users swipe their cards for tokens at the market info booth, they will receive a dollar for dollar match up to $10, making $10 worth $20. After market day ends, any surplus food from our vendors will be donated to the Great Plains Food Bank and distributed to area organizations by volunteers.
